Sunday Brunch in Eastern Market

I spent Sunday afternoon shopping and brunching with Erin and Scott in Eastern Market. The beautiful weather helped convince Scott to skip the office and spend the day with his favorite [girl] roommates. We took the 96 bus from U Street so we got a nice little tour past the Capitol and the┬áSupreme Court (I am really getting the hang of this bus thing). The market was great. We got there a little late in the day so we snatched up some deals when the vendors lower their prices. (Two boxes of peaches for five bucks. Crazy!) We also found the amazing wrought iron chaise lounge pictured above. I really loved it, but we decided that it might not survive long in our front yard (things have a funny way of walking off your property in U Street). We finished the afternoon with brunch at Tunnicliff’s tavern. The food was quite good and the wait staff was very patient when I changed my drink order three times (I recommend the arnold palmer). Overall, we had a lovely time enjoying one of my favorite spots in the city.
